Abstract

Treatment of Walled-off Pancreatic Necrosis (WON) with LAMS (Lumen – Apposing Metal Stents) placement through endoscopy is an advanced treatment method for complications of acute pancreatitis. At the Gastroenterology Department of Military Hospital 175, the use of LAMS has been successfully implemented in the treatment of pancreatic pseudocyst. In this study, we report the two patients treated with the placement of a LAMS via endoscopy to drain the necrotic cyst, aiming to minimize the risk of open surgery and related complications. The treatment results show that the patients recovered quickly, were discharged and had no significant complications.
